Our goal is to preserve the integrity of the dental hygiene profession and maintain the high standard of care patients deserve. A “one-time training” is not comparable to the years of intense schooling and the licensure exams dental hygienists must complete in order to practice in their state.

We are happy to see our members from many different states standing by their Washington colleagues in opposition to these bills. The collective voice of the ADHA community is essential in protecting the profession. This is your ADHA membership at work. Stay engaged - continue to speak up and spread the word! We will have updates as this story continues.

*HB 1935 and SB 5833: the services under this rule allow dental assistants to: Perform dental prophylaxis with supragivgival scaling, AND perform periodontal probing AND perform gross debridement with an ultrasonic device. After completing a ONE-TIME training.
